Director A.R. Murugadoss has confirmed that discussions and brainstorming for the sequel are going on actively. He shared: “We have some ideas… Once we get time, we will sit and discuss” — hinting at the script campaign being underway.
However, producers Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena have previously denied any rumours of a sequel. “As of now, there are no plans of doing a sequel,” they said, but also promised that “If there are, only Aamir Khan and Suriya will take it on.”

There are rumors that Ghajini 2 will be produced in parallel in two languages: Hindi and Tamil, with Aamir Khan returning in Hindi and Suriya in Tamil.
