After more than a decade since Jodhaa Akbar (2008) became a love legend on the silver screen, director Ashutosh Gowariker is said to be working on the epic Jodhaa Akbar 2 – the most anticipated sequel in Indian cinema. The film promises to continue the great story between Mughal Emperor Akbar the Great and Empress Jodhaa, and explore a new generation where love, politics and honor once again collide in the storm of history.
💫 Story:
Jodhaa Akbar 2 is expected to revolve around the post-reign period of Akbar, when his son – Prince Salim (later Emperor Jahangir) is caught between two forces: imperial duty and the desire for freedom. Meanwhile, the legacy of Jodhaa and Akbar’s love continues to inspire, but is also threatened by conspiracy and rebellion in the royal court.
The film is expected to be a combination of love and power, epic and tragedy – bringing the audience a tearful, splendid and emotional journey.
