🔥 L3: Azrael – The Destroyer from Darkness Prepares to Rise
Introduction
L3: Azrael is the much-anticipated sequel to the L Franchise, following Lucifer (2019) and L2: Empuraan (2025). The film is directed and written by Prithviraj Sukumaran with Murali Gopy, produced by Antony Perumbavoor, Gokulam Gopalan and A. Subaskaran.
In the L universe, Mohanlal continues to play Khureshi Ab’raam / Stephen Nedumpally, while Rick Yune returns as Shenlong Triad — two opposing figures of the international underworld. Azrael is said to delve into Stephen’s past, as he transforms from Stephen Nedumpally to Khureshi Ab’raam, and reveals the war between two underground forces: Khureshi Ab’raam Nexus and Shen Triad Axis.
The film is set to be the third installment – “L3: The Beginning” – but the official commercial title is L3: Azrael.

The trailer opens with a mysterious setting, heavy background music and Mohanlal walking through shadows – hinting at a new force about to awaken. The trailer shows action, contrasting lighting and hints of the underworld – very much in line with the tone of the L film.
