1. No Escape

No Escape (2015) is a dramatic action-survival film directed by John Erick Dowdle, starring Owen Wilson, Lake Bell and Pierce Brosnan.

The Jack Dwyer family (Owen Wilson) moves to a Southeast Asian country to start a new life. But when a coup breaks out, they are caught in the crossfire, having to find a way to survive in the chaos of politics and violence.
The film is highly appreciated for its suspense, but also criticized for some aspects of the way it portrays the local image.

2. Nowhere

Nowhere tells the story of Mia, a pregnant woman who tries to escape a dictatorial country by hiding in a container on a cargo ship. After a violent storm hits, she is separated from her husband, gives birth in the middle of the sea and must fight for survival alone.

The film stands out for its powerful imagery of isolation, the harshness of nature, and the inner pain of the character.

3. Fall

Fall is a survival/thriller film in which the character is trapped at a height, having to overcome fear, trauma, and harsh natural conditions to survive. The theme of “falling” – not only in the physical sense but also in the mental sense – brings a sense of suspense and high risk.

4. Crawl

Crawl is a film that combines natural disasters and creatures – often with the character trapped in a house while flooding, with dangerous reptiles (like crocodiles) lurking. The “water + predator” element makes the space limit tense, forcing the character to make an immediate life-or-death decision.

5. 12 Feet Deep

The film usually revolves around a situation where the characters (maybe two sisters or friends) are trapped at the bottom of a 12-foot-deep pool, unable to get out of the water due to a closed door or the water filtration system. Isolation, time, lack of oxygen and mental pressure are the main factors that create survival stress.

6. Adrift

Adrift (2018) is a true story based on the journey of Tami Oldham and Richard Sharp – when their boat was destroyed in the middle of the ocean by a storm, and Tami was forced to sail more than 1,000 nautical miles to safety. Themes: open sea, loneliness, faith, determination and the relationship between humans and nature.

7. Arctic

Arctic is a survival film in a frozen landscape, where the main character is in a plane crash or stranded in the Arctic wilderness. With “deadly” temperatures, lack of food, sleep and natural hazards, every small decision can lead to death.

8. San Andreas

San Andreas (2015) is a disaster film starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. When the San Andreas Fault causes a massive earthquake in California, a rescue coordinator (Ray) must overcome the devastation to save his daughter amid crumbling buildings, tsunamis and debris everywhere.

The film stands out for its epic scale of natural disasters, visual effects and intense “natural battlefield” feeling.

9. Don’t Breathe

Don’t Breathe is a survival horror film, revolving around a group of thieves planning to break into a blind man’s house to steal money. But they don’t know that the homeowner is not helpless: he has the skills and determination to protect his home. The film exploits limited space, surprises and dark lighting as tools to create fear.

🎬 Conclusion & Suggestion
Of these 9 movies, No Escape and Nowhere have easy-to-find and clear trailers.
The remaining movies (Fall, Crawl, 12 Feet Deep, Adrift, Arctic, San Andreas, Don’t Breathe) are also very familiar in the survival / disaster genre, but in my recent search, I couldn’t find a standard trailer with the source for all of them.
